COBU

COBU is a family-themed show that has electrified audiences across the U.S., Europe, and Asia with its dynamic blend of Japanese traditional Taiko drumming with funk tap dance. COBU founder Yako Miyamoto was a six-year member of the Off-Broadway hit show STOMP. COBU combines the culture of Japan with the energy and rhythms of New York City for an exciting evening critics call "powerful, primal and exotic." A guaranteed fun-filled night for youth and members of the entire family!

Michael McDonald

Audiences first came to love Michael McDonald as a member of the hit group The Doobie Brothers.
His break-out solo career propelled him to new heights with a string of hits, including I Keep Forgetting, Yah Mo B There, Sweet Freedom, and On My Own, a duet with Patti Labelle.
More recently McDonald released a series of albums celebrating the music of Motown.

The Forum and Reichhold Center continue their longstanding partnership with the return of the acclaimed Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra. PRSO will perform Sibelius, Spring Song, Op. 16; Chausson, Poeme de l’amoure et de la mer, Op. 19; and Mendelssohn, Symphony n. 3. St. Thomas native and mezzo-soprano Melita Etienne joins PRSO as a featured vocalist during the evening.

Steve Simon Presents: 1st Annual St. Thomas Blues Festival

Reichhold Center teams up with Steve Simon to bring three incredible blues artists to the stage. Curtis Salgado is heralded as one of the finest blues harmonica players in the country. His style became the basis for the Blues Brothers movie starring John Belushi. Trampled Under Foot are the 2008 winners of the International Blues Challenge. Joining the lineup is Eden Brent, who has been praised for her “whiskey-smoke” voice, drawing comparisons to Janis Joplin and Sarah Vaughn.

Black Violin is a group of vibrant young men who have performed across the United States to critical acclaim. Black Violin blows audiences away using the classical violin and viola to render the latest hip hop songs from Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, the Fugees and others. Kev Marcus plays the violin, while Wil B. plays the viola. These classically trained young men are three-time winners of “Showtime at the Apollo.”

St. Thomas native and national recording artist, Maurice “Verse” Simmonds attended the Charlotte Amalie High School. He got his start performing alongside schoolmates Pressure and Theron Thomas (R. City). Verse will perform his 2009 St. Thomas Carnival release hit “That Girl” and his newest single “Buy You A Round.” Simmonds recently toured with R&B artist Ne-yo.

Two of the hottest acts on the Neo-Soul music circuit take to the stage for the season finale. Musiq Soulchild has proven himself to have staying power in the music business with his hits “Teach Me,” “Halfcrazy,” and “Love.” Vivian Green’s debut album “A Love Story” featured the hit song “Emotional Rollercoaster.” In 2005 the Philadelphia native scored again with the hit single, “Gotta Go, Gotta Leave.”
