Rhythmic Circus has taken the dance world by storm with their innovative repertoire, transforming tap shoes into instruments of rhythm. Their groundbreaking production, Feet Don’t Fail Me Now! showcases the company’s technical capacity as dancers and explores rhythm as it plays off a wide array of musical genres spanning from Minneapolis funk to salsa. With elaborate costumes and music from their seven-piece funk band, Rhythmic Circus will leave you on your feet and dancing in the aisles.

Virgin Islands native Dion Parson returns home for a concert featuring his youth mentoring project. As part of the VI Lottery Youth initiative, Parson has mentored more than a dozen youths over the past year, teaching them the fundamentals of jazz. Those students from various schools will perform on stage with Parson during his CD release concert. Also performing are VI natives Ron Blake and Rashawn Ross.

Street Beat is a critically acclaimed percussion and hip hop dance show playing to sold-out audiences around the country. Reichhold Center for the Arts' Family Series, along with the Virgin Islands Department of Education, present this evening of pulsating fun on Friday, February 18, 2011, 7 p.m. (Island Center, St. Croix) and Saturday, February 19, 2011, 7 p.m. (Reichhold Center, St. Thomas). Reggae old school meets new school in this performance featuring legendary singer Jimmy Cliff and breakout solo artist Gramps Morgan. Cliff makes his first appearance on the Reichhold Center stage singing many of his classics, including, “You Can Get It If You Really Want,” “Many Rivers to Cross,” “The Harder They Come,” and “Wild World.”  The Jamaica native was recently one of five performers inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.  Gramps Morgan earned legion of fans as part of the sibling group Morgan Heritage. Reichhold Center for the Arts welcomes back the Jamaican “King of Comedy” Oliver Samuels in Patrick Brown’s hilariously scary Who-Dun-It -"Midnight at Puss Creek."  “Midnight at Puss Creek” is a clever, hilarious tale of conspiracy, family dysfunction and revenge.   Oliver Samuels plays Edgar, an ambitious son.  His mother, wealthy Miss Zelda is on her deathbed and loved ones have gathered at the home (Puss Creek) as she nears her final breath.  Her snooty granddaughter, Rita, along with other family members waste no time in letting their true colors show. The play features favorite actors from other Oliver plays including Glen “Titus” Campbell, also Camille Davis, Sharee McDonald-Russell and Courtney Wilson.

Tiny tots move fluidly in a single line, their steps in sync with each other and the music. School aged kids clad in multicolor costumes leap, pirouette and sashay across the stage in a kaleidoscope of motion. Teens and adults employ body movement, mannerisms and music to tell a story and entertain.  This is the performance you’ll be treated to during the 19th annual recital of the Caribbean Dance School’s (CDS) students on St. Thomas. The Company has performed in 56 states and countries ranging from the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region, to Europe, Israel and Africa.

First Annual Gospel Concert

Partners for Health St.Thomas-St. John presents its annual fundraiser, a gospel concert featuring two-time Grammy Award nominee Jonathan Butler.   Butler, a former R&B and jazz icon, has solidified himself as a force to be reckoned with through his gospel music.   He is known for his R&B hit, “Lies,” his biggest song to date, that peaked at #5 on the Billboard charts and won him his first Grammy nomination. Butler’s first all-gospel project The Worship Project, allowed him to spread his wings during a series of beautifully-penned worship songs.  Now, Butler is preparing to release his second gospel project, Brand New Day, a collection of uplifting and empowering tunes.   A notable vocalist, arranger, songwriter and producer, John Stoddart will also be performing.  Stoddard’s latest release, Faith | Hope | Love, is a soulful collection of inspirational love songs that speak to the challenges and triumphs of marriage. Faith | Hope | Love made it to the top 20 music charts. Also performing, Denise Barclay a native of the Virgin Islands.   In addition to Barclay’s regular appearances on the 3ABN Christian television network and more recently, the Hope Channel, Barclay has sung for international audiences in Canada, London, and the Caribbean.

IQ Events Group, in collaboration with Hearts in Service Association, presents “Glorious in Paradise” a concert featuring the internationally renowned queen of gospel, praise, and worship, Martha Munizzi.   Munizzi is a Grammy Award nominee and a Dove and Stellar Award winner.

Munizzi, along with local artists, Sons of God, Brittany Thompson, Mining Sensation, Prophecy Youth Ensemble and Kishma Raymo will deliver a night of praise to be remembered.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hearts in Service Association, a non-profit organization that helps the homeless.

"Dance for a Healthy Lifestyle."

The Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Organization presents its 8th annual Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Pageant.   This year's theme is "Dance for a Healthy Lifestyle," featuring four beautiful and talented ladies: Camila Daniels, Jamie Gaston, Yaira Bermudez and Taiesa Lashley. The contestants will compete in the categories of Interview, Talent, Evening Gown and On-Stage Question.  Thousands of dollars in scholarships will be awarded and the winner will compete in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas, January 2012.  The show will be hosted by the 2004 Miss America, Ericka Dunlap.
